7 Randy from Blythe, Ca: This is a great show. I wish the second set had Dorothy. she is my favorite. I am so glad I bought it on DVD.
6 Rev Dr Stephen Cunningham-Collins from Tredegar Wales: I purchased both series one and two and recently watch it again, with some of my congregation. It reminded me of my Army days' so many female officers were so like Captain Emily Ridley, and companions like Songster Meredith. Thora represented what to many was the former Salvation Army - Go for Souls and go for the worst!
5 stuart dodds from london: thora hird at her best brings back very fond memorys of my nana as she was in the salvation army it was comedy at its best
4 Major Betty Grindle from Grand Rapids Michigan: I truly enjoyed the Hallelujah series. I also remembering watching them on the Faith & Values Channel. I have told many people of the series and they are anxious to view it should it ever to on television again or hopefully soon to DVD.
3 Rhonda McClements from Londonderry N.I: Hi,
I really enjoyed hallejuah, especially Dame Thora Hird she was one of my favourite actresses I miss her very much. I enjoyed her also as edie in Last of the summer wine she will be very sorely missed.
Best wishes

2 Major Fred Thornhill from Fairfax, Va.: All the episodes I saw were very good. I especially liked the episode where the captain spoke of enjoying her appointment only to receive her farewell notice. She was alble to represent The Salvation Army with respect.
1 Major Mike Fletcher from United States: Loved seeing the episodes on the old Oddessy Channel (USA) now the Hallmark Channel. I've enjoyed every episode which brought much cheer in my life at the end of a hard day.
I'm s retired Salvation Army major and always found a good laugh watching Dame Hird act the part of Captain Ridley.
I am hoping that one day the series may be available of VHS/DVD for the general public as has been the case for "Are You Being Served" and many other excellent British comedies which have a strong following in the United States.
Thanks for being there for our television viewing. Dame Hird will be missed.
