Now i'm 15 and i love it. I think it's still popular.
Bring it back! I've never seen so amazing tv show.
62 ray from manchester: my tribute, is d+m was tops in the 80s, and as for ray smith, my hart go out to his famaly, he was a good actor.
61 Jane Welsh from East London: Dempsey and Makepeace was and still is the best tv cop series ever, and not just because of their love & hate relationship. Why won't anyone bring it back with the same cast before its too late? By the way catch Dempsey at Ronnie Scotts for free at M Brandon Society raffle ends 18/09/08!
60 Noreen from London: I watched Dempsey and Makepeace from when it started, I loved it then, I love it today. It brings back lovely memories from when I was living in scotland in my teenage days. Loved them both together, and they are happily married still today. Absolutely fabulous.
59 Monika Schnapp from United States: Hello all!!
Greetings from New Jersey!
I L-O-V-E the D&M series - I grew up on them, BUT we don't have them in the STATES.
I have been looking for the series everywhere and it is truly a SHAME - NOWHERE to find - I guess I will have to return back home to sweet o' Europe to watch them! Michael and Glynis are Fab together in and out of the series! way to go and two thumbs up! (as they rank it here in the US!)
58 Joyce from Bruges, Belgium: My sister Jill (who has down syndrom) and I used to (and still do!) love this show when we were kids. We now both turned 30 and we still love to watch the episodes on DVD! those were the days! If only they had added a few more seasons. Jill always calls me Makepeace and it will stay my nickname forever I think!
D&M IS our childhood and it was fun being a kid in the eighties! Glynis and Michael once send a signed picture to my sister. It's still hanging above her bed. If only I could thank them for this!
57 blondie from uk: hi love this show....
infact been watching it on itv3....as they are showing them at mo....
56 donna from yorkshire: dempsey and makepeace was the best 80s show iwould love to see it back the timing would be just right now on the back of shows like ashes to ashes it has a real D&M feel about it come on someone put the backing in yhe timings right
55 Jan from East Ham: Dempsey and Makepeace was and is the best cop series to date. I noticed many of you, want it back? Please join my petition on Michael's Society website to get it back - less talk, more action - we may get it ON TV!
54 Amber from Woking, UK: I loved D&M so much when I was growing up that I named my youngest son, Dempsey, after it (and because my dad looks similar to Michael Brandon!)!Strange but true!
53 Jerome from Paris: Hi,
I am a fan from the very beginning.
It is the best serie.
Please, restart series!!!
52 Jan from England: This series is the best cop series that was ever made. Is there any fans who would like to see it come back? Would anyone like to meet other fans? The reason I ask is I noticed Michael Brandon Society is hosting meeting event on 2nd June, is anyone going? Check out their website for details. Hope to see you all there!
51 Stephanie from: Excellent, love it!
50 John Girard from Aacomb Twp. Michigan ,U.S.A: I watched D&M every chance I got in the 1980's. It is my all time favorite series. Every time I go to the store I look for the Box set, hoping I'll get lucky. I have a couple that I got from europe nad had converted to U.S mode. I even have a scrapbook with many pictures of them
49 Jan Green from London, England: Hi! It's brillant to have the series out on DVD at last but I must say I was shocked to hear that the third series will have Tales of The Unexpected episodes that Michael & Glynis appeared in as extras! Why not more interviews with Tony Osoba or, do a Dempsey and Makepeace reunion but that should be done for real as one off Christmas special. What do you think of that?
48 Karim Khan from Pakistan: Foyle I don't agree with you. Dempsey and Makepeace was a great series and I wonder at the IQ of those who spoofed on it.
47 Foyle from London: Dempsey and Makepeace has to be the worst of the worst TV cop series from the eighties or seventies. The series only escaped spoofing in the UK because no one with an IQ over 80 ever watched a single episode of this crap nonsense. Wikipedia claims that the series was popular in Europe. Well I can only assume they are referring to continental Europe; perhaps the dialogue was much improved in translation?
46 Phil Clarke from Nuneaton: The Best Cop Show I've ever seen, what a pairing - Dempsey, a rough american rule-breaking cop and Makepeace, a lady cop who always did things by the book. Together they made me cringe and laughter everytime, who ever thought these characters up must have racked it in back in 1980's. I was 11 when I last saw it, and it left a big impression on my mind ever since. Now i´m 30, and it´s still my fav cop show!!
So of course, when I heard that Series One finally would be released for February 2006: I was exstatic. Now I've bought it, I watched it constantly. But now I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on Series Two and Three!
45 Peter Threadgold from Warrington. Cheshire: Having met Glynis and Michael many times I can only say there will be nobody like them again on TV
- BRING IT BACK PLEASE!
44 D&M Fan from UK: The complete first series is FINALLY released in the UK in February 2006. About bloody time!!!!
43 Jan from England: Hi! Just wanted to say "D&M" is still best cop series around even though it is 20 years old this year. When is it going to get DVD release in the UK?
42 rahsan from İstanbul: Hi,I am big fan Michael Brandon. Dempsey and Makepeace is my favorite tv series. (I was 10 when it first watched) Michael Brandon my favorite actor all time because he is very very cool man.
41 Eugen (Женёк Ряз: Dempsey and Makepeace are great! This show is TV-treasure! I wanna watch it again, but some jerks on our TV not gonna show. I hope they will change his minds. Becaose i h8 cheap Peterburg's cop-shows.
P.S.Dempsey and Makepeace are 4ever!
40 Deano from Kent: Well what can i say, it's just one of those moments that make growing up memorable. I would have been 13 when i fell in love with Glynis Barber and the show of course. Great acting, great idea for a show and i could never understand why it was so underated. It's just good to see so many people still loving it. Timeless.
39 Teresa from Portugal: I just love this great series!! And i´m so happy....here in Portugal they´ve just released the 1st & 2nd series dvd set of Dempsey & Makepeace! Now, I´m expecting for the 3rd series! I was 12 when it started, and now i´m 30 and still it´s my favourite tv series!!!!
38 Jan from England: Hi! This is an unbeatable cop series ever. I just love watching the on screen chemistry between Makepeace and Dempsey...
37 Amandip Uppal - Kotecha from London: There where soooooo many favourite bits in each episode!!! As a teenager they were the HOTTEST things on t.v.!!
Not just were they both sexy as hell, but you could feel the fantastic chemistary oozing between them both sitting in your living room!! . When it comes to cop duo's till day there's still no match! Michael was coool as hell and Glynis apart from being beautiful had the best haircut, and looked fabulous in everything she wore!
p.s Would have been Fab to see them have at least one cheeky snog during the series.
36 Gaby Knightbridge from London, England: Hi! Am running with a friend the site www.geocities.com/nightanddayworld2002 site on Night and Day where you can get updates on what Glynis is up too. I was wondering are there any fans of D&M who would like to be e-mates. Contact me via the site if you do!
35 Janice from London, England: Hi! Am big fan of Dempsey and Makepeace. It should never have been dropped! I never missed an episode and wish they would bring it back in a movie too. Never other series compares due to excellant acting by Glynis Barber, Michael Brandon and Tony Osoba. Does anyone know where Tony Osoba is doing now???
34 Joanne Smith from Lancashire, UK: I remember watching D & M when it was first shown on UK TV and I thought it was great! Nearly 20 years on, I still love it!
The chemistry between Michael and Glynis was fantastic - I was thrilled when they ended up together in real life!
My favouite eps are 'Love You To Death', 'Tequila Sunset', 'Morocco Jack' and, of course, 'Guardian Angel'!
I wish they would do a reunion movie to tell us what happened to D & M after 'Guardian Angel'! Did they end up together? We're all dying to know!
33 karim khan from hangu, pakistan: I was 11 when D&M was on our tv screen, and when I would miss it by some sad chance, I would cry and not eat my meal. My pen name Ernest Dempsey tells the story of my inspiration from the show.
32 Timothy J Haley from United Kingdom: This really was the best tv series ever to be made. I am probably one of it's biggest fans in the world. I feel the show was magnificently written and scripted, with a truly tremendous and talented cast. I do believe much of the credit does belong to both Glynis & Michael for their professional and loveable on-screen chemistry. I truly hope and prey they return on our sreens as Dempsey and Makepeace in the near future.
31 KATYA from RUSSIA: THIS SHOW IT'S SOMETHING!!!!
I WISH I COULD HAVE IT ON CD OR DVD. THIS IS THE BESTEST SHOW.
30 alex sarn from midlands: I really love the show and wish I could get the episodes on DVD.
29 Shaun (Bronze Bully in the forums) from Birmingham: I agree with the earlier comment about having a D&M DVD Box set or something, that would be good. Dampsey/Brandon was last week in the Metro being interviewed, they asked if he missed Dempsey - he said he did and also said he would like the show to return as the spark is still there between him & Glynis and it would be nice for the fans - I totally agree - LWT, get writing some scripts!!!! Or a D&M movie - anything its still got a good formula get it back!
28 Monika from USA: I just love the Dempsey and Makepeace TV show. It's one of a kind and fantastic. Full of action and good production, writing and the whole performance is just super.
I watched EVERY SINGEL episode in Slovakia, Europe where this show is STILL a huge hit. No kidding. I miss it here in the USA and I just can hope the US networks open their eyes and realize to put it on TV.
27 Rose Perez from London: Although I was only 2 when D&M was first aired, I am a huge fan of the show. I actually had the privallage of meeting the Gorgeous Glynis on the 19th of August 03 on the Terry and Gaby show.
My brother and I are in the process of creating a website and we are going to be doing a then and now section of photos of some of the filming locations. When I met Glynis I gave her a letter asking her to help us with the whereabouts of D&M's headquarters and Dempsey's house, but she only sent me a signed pic.
If anyone on this site can help us with the whereabouts of these locations or any other locations, please email me at rsperez.at.hotmail.com
26 Rose Perez from London: Sorry guys and gals - I gave the wrong email addy. It's Rsperez_london.at.hotmail.com
25 Janice from Wales: Hi! Dempsey and Makepeace still is the best cop series around. Does anyone else like to see a DVD set be released on the series? Anyone who would like to catch up with stars now Glynis is on tour in Graduate (check www.geocities.com/nightanddayworld2002 site) for details and Michael Brandon is on at Royal National Theatre in "Jerry Springer The Opera" in London! Mind you I rather they were making a one-off christmas special of the series to bring us up to date on Dempsey and Makepeace..look forward to reading further tributes!
24 Lesley-Ann from Scotland: The theme tune alone brings back A LOT of memories of my childhood as I watched the entire three series when this was on it's FIRST ever airing. I loved it so much I was even a member of the fanclub.
23 wayne charlton from sunderland: For me Dempsey and Makepeace is the ultimate show of all time.I still get goosebumps of childhood memories when I hear that awesome theme tune.
I wish I still had that brown cord jacket and white tie I used to run around in as a kid.
22 joanne from yorkshire: My very first memory of dempsey and makepeace is being allowed to stay up to watch the squeeze when i was only about 7 years old and i just became hooked on it. I finally got hold of the pilot length episode 8 years later..... :)

Bring it back for a Dempsey and Makepeace 20 years on...
18 freddie from ELGIN: defenatly one of the best dramas in the eighties

10 Sharon from Surrey: Found this particular site by accident - But still feel there is not enough about (Dempsey & Makepeace) Michael Brandon & Glynis Barber - on the Internet or the TV. Luisa's is about the Best so far. Saw the programme first in 1985 thought it was great! still do especially for its time. BIG BIG Fan of Michael Brandon. Opening Credits were fanastic along with the music. Though it would be interesting to see the opening credits of their different backgrounds. Bring Back Dempsey & Makepeace - Bring Back Michael! for a closure at least - PLEASE!
9 Luisa from Madrid: I just love this series!
It's my favourite TV series ever, since I saw it for the first time in 1987, when it was aired here in Spain.
I always enjoy watching the episodes and find the dialogues and the on-screen chemistry just amazing.
Regards to all fans!!!
8 Richard Perez from London: I watched this back in 1983 when it came out on TV in the UK and I also watch it now. I love watching it and recognising London scenes and then comparing them to what they look like now, 20 years on.
7 Andrew Beet from United Kingdom: I just love Dempsey and Makepeace. I like the episode
Love you to death when Suzi Quatro plays a stalker stalking Dempsey. What i liked about it and still do is the stories and the action. It was fantastic.
6 Sara from Caernarfon: Helo!! I think Dempsey and Makepeace are just wonderful. My mum even knitted me a jumper just like one Makepeace used to have!
The chemistry between the two main characters made the programme even more compelling!
5 Heather Sewell from Leeds: I watched the show when I was 14 going on 15 years old back in 1984 and I love it and when I watched it I fell in love with Michael Brandon because of his smile and wit and now I am 33 years old I still love the show now and still love Michael Brandon but he is still married to Glynis and I hope they are happy.
4 Debs from Essex: There was simply nothing I did not like about the series, it was just great. I was 13 when it first started and I watched every episode. I wish they would repeat it on terrestrial television.
3 Michael Johnson from Ontario Canada: I loved the opening, with the "hometown" photos contrasting their very different childhoods.
I agree that their chemistry is fantastic.
2 Paul Stokes from Staffordshire: I have been watching it since the very first time it was shown in 1985, when I was only 6 years old. The first time I watched it, it was only because of the action scenes. Now, I watch it because of the chemistry the on-screen duo had and the chemistry the off-screen duo, Michael Brandon and Glynis Barber, have now that they are married.
1 Emma Clarke from Coventry: I used to fancy Dempsey in my youth. It reminds me of the days when I was living at home, with my parents and brings back such lovely memories.
